Cothelstone Manor is a Grade II* Listed Historic House situated at the foot of the Quantock hills and dates from the early 1600's, although there has been a settlement at Cothelstone since Saxon times.
The Quantock Hills were the first area in England to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and are renowned for their dramatic scenery and magnificent herd of Red Deer.
Our private Group Tours offer an opportunity to learn about the history of the Manor and the Stawell's, who lived here from 1066 until 1792, and the role they played supporting the Royalist cause in the English Civil War.
The Tours also allow Groups to see the important Grade 1 Listed Gatehouse, built in the early 1500's, the Grade II* Listed Gazebo, built for the wedding of Sir John Stawell in 1619, and the delightful Church of St Thomas within the grounds and afterwards enjoy tea relaxing in the galleried hall, drawing room and garden.
We also welcome guests for bed and breakfast at the Manor. Relax and unwind in this beautiful family home and enjoy the stunning countryside around our Historic House.
There are many things to do and places to visit, including Coleridge Cottage, Dunster Castle and Hestercombe Gardens and for those with sporting interests Somerset County Cricket Ground and Taunton Racecourse are close by.
Guests can also visit Exmoor, Tarr Steps, the Doone Valley and the wild coastlines of West Somerset and North Devon.
The Manor also hosts exclusive Weddings, Product Launches, Photo Shoots and is available as a Film Location.
